It was show time for our client Drayson Racing Technologies earlier this month at the Autosport Show, NEC.

Lord Drayson and team were taking pride of place at the show to announce to the media and world the very first 100% electric powered LMP racecar — the Lola/Drayson B12.

It is a timely launch as next year, Formula 1 organising body the FIA will launch a new racecar series dedicated to electric racing cars. The Formula E series will showcase a broad range of EV technologies — and the Lola-Drayson is being tipped to play a leading role in the new championship.

B12 features include:

  • composite battery power
  • moveable aerodynamics
  • electric regenerative damping

It also boasts inductive charging — this recharges the racecar's batteries simply by driving over a plate in the ground, without wires.

As creator and manager of the brand The Seen were pleased to produce well coordinated and on-brand exhibition stand graphics, LMP car livery and show leaflet including print production — and all in the space of a week.

In addition we also designed the stylish product surface graphics and badging for the Power Distribution Module (shown above) containing high voltage switching and fusing components as well as battery management and system safety monitoring circuitry.

All elements came together seamlessly on the day to communicate a highly consistent, slick brand and in successfully engaging with the show visitors and guest.
